In the month of May 2015, me and my fellow band classmates went on a Year End Band Trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota for one whole week. This experience has been one of the most memorable trips I have ever taken!
Our class had the opportunity to do so many cool and amazing things. We went to the Science Museum of Minnesota, the famous Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis Coll of Art Design, Hard Rock Cafe, and of course Mall of America! We also had the opportunity to watch The Minneapolis Orchestra perform as well.
Me and my classmates performed at Elementary schools, MHong College Prep Academy, and University of Minnesota. Some of our music pieces we played include the theme song “Let it go” from the anime movie Frozen,Mamma Mia, and Snake charmer. Which I think the children, and the University of Minnesota band professor really enjoyed.
All in all, it was a astonishing trip. We had met new people, bonded, and got closer to our classmates and chaperones. I recommend other students in trying out and joining the MBCI band as its not only about playing instruments and performing. It’s also about playing and learning new things, and meeting new people in the journey of the music world!
